Blog#8 Age appropriate Clothing

Age appropriate clothing. Does anybody remember what that even means? To my opinion I don't think so. I haven't seen someone dress appropriately for their age since I was two years old. Why are people doing this? Well sometimes an elderly lady may feel younger than her age, or wants to stay trendy. For younger girls the fact that they want to grow up faster than should. Wanting to appear older to get away with a lot more things.

I walk around in my town seeing elderly women wearing tights with a t-shirt. Even though at first you think "oh this lady has swag she's hip." but then you think, "Why is she dressing like that, it looks gross." An example of elderly person wearing inappropriate clothing is...

Why is this look inappropriate you ask? Not only does the horrendous fashion come into play but also the see through lace top is not the classiest thing a lady of this age should wear. Those sequence shorts are not only out of style but also are very inappropriate because its for young girls who go out dancing. Then those Eskimo boots just make the look even more trashy. Accessorized with that headband which is very junior high. Let's just say there are a lot of wrong things in this outfit.

Young girls also dress inappropriate for their age. I am going to use one of our very own celebrities Mary Kate Olsen. Even though her fashion a lot of people may respect. The majority of the time she dresses too mature. For example....

Yes she wears designer clothing but just because it has a very popular name brand doesn't mean it is always right. To break down this outfit and explain why its so wrong lets start with the headband. That headband should be burned. It is way to thick and the velvet finish makes it look costume like. The dress on the other hand does absolutely nothing for her figure. The drop waist makes her torso look longer. The drapping on the dress makes her look bigger than she is. The color of the dress and the accessories scream old lady. The pattern of the dress also says matronly.

Blog#7 How to get a new look without spending any money

Looks change all the time, for seasons, or fashion seasons. You don't want to get caught wearing last years style. So how can you get a new look without spending any money? Donations, make flyers and begin to hand them out to the neighborhood crowd. In this flyer it should say what type of clothing you want them to bring. Since you want a new look why not gather clothing for the each season. So tell people to bring clothes the pertains to summer, spring, fall, and winter. Try to keep this gathering as organized as possible, having times and adresses is important. Also be sure to tell people that it has to be clothing that looks new. Nothing that is stained, washed out, ripped, of is over used should be allowed. The clothes doesn't nessecarly have to be named brand.

Gather a big group of close friends and have a fashion party. Bring clothes that you havent worn in a long time that are "in" style, or bring clothing that is different than what you usually wear. Try to bring clothes that pertains to all the seasons of the year. During this party exchange clothes that you want to get rid of for clothes that you are interested in. This is a simple and profitable way of getting a new look. You also don't have to completely change an outfit. Keeping a certain jean and pairing it with a different top that you recieved at this party with some accessories that you also recieved at this party can make you have a totally new look!

This other option may be less probable for people now a days, but also going door to door, and asking people if they have any non-mistreated clothes that they would like to get rid of in a donation. Some people may not be as willing to give up some of there clothing or the clothing that their giving is really what your looking for. With the clothes that they give you, you can also enhance it. How so? you can buy things at craft stores that you can add on to pieces of clothing and make them unique. For example, if you recieve a hat you can add feathers to it and it will be a hat that nobody else has and its a new look.

Blog #6 How can changing your wardrobe when the season change- a good thing for "your personal climate."

Global Climate affects our attitude each day. But what people don't know is that what you wear also affects your attitude. How so? Well, during winter you have to wear multiple layers of clothing. Coats, jackets, sweaters, boots, long johns, and jeans. Personally having to put all that on in the morning can be a really big drag and puts me in a bad mood.

Wearing multiple layers of clothing not only is time consuming when your getting ready but it also is time consuming when you arrive to your destination. Trying to get comfortable for the day you have to take off most of those layers that you have on, and once your ready to head out you have to put them all back on. But since the beginning of your day can be so exhausting it can affect your motivation to do the work your suppose to. It can make you tired, cranky, and rude. You could find things that normal wouldn't bother you more irritating. Not only do the layers affect the way you act but also the colors. During winter season you mostly wear dark tone clothing. Like blacks, grays, and beige. Because the colors your wearing are somber they way you act and portray yourself will most likely be sad and somber.

In spring, that the weather is nicer, layers can start coming off. You can start wearing shorts, and short sleeve shirts on good days. On days where it is still a little chilly you could wear jeans, a t-shirt, and a light jacket. This is still less layers then during the winter.
Feeling more comfortable in the morning and thinking that you don't have to wear so much layers can put you in a good mood. I know it puts me in a good mood. Having your day start out in a positive way can increase your motivation. You won't be as tired or as drowsy. When people have a positive attitude or are in a good mood, other people can tell from the way you look on the outside. Also wearing brighter colors could help your attitude as it can liven up your day.

Blog#5 Mix and Match Designers

Now a days it is not nessecary to wear a complete outfit by the same designer. Unless you are wearing a whole gown. The new trend is to mix and match your designers. For example: Wearing a gucci coat with Chanel pants and a Michael Kors top.

Even though people may not have the best taste in fashion keeping colors neutral will always help to stay in style. Some people like to be a bit more adventurious and actually have a bunch of colors in their outfit may not always be the right things but hats off that you took a risk. For expample some people would like to wear: A colorful shirt dress by Mondo but pair it with a printed cardigan made by Betsy Johnson
Even though it is not the most stylish thing to wear, or an outfit that matches at all, some people have that type of style that actually ends up setting a trend.

Being able to mix and match cocktail dresses with a nice blazer from different designers could be a tricky thing. finding the right blazer and the right shape to compliment that cocktail dress could be tricky. But its always good to push the boundries in a stylish way. Paring a printed Versace cocktail dress with  a Vera Wang plaid Blazer.
It is not that fashionbale but at least you a wearing clothing from very respectable designers. It is very hard to mix and match designers because they all have a unique point of view its hard to find something that matches that doesnt come from the same collection.

Some fashion designer use the same colors in their collection depending on what season they are designing for. Pairing a Jacket from Irina and Pairing it with a pant from Chanel. will have you in a style matching and wearing completely different designers.
Mix and Matching designers is not an easy task at hand. But fashion Stylist like Rachel Zoe of to go through the dilema of doing it. They find the best designs mix and match them and then style it with the right accessories and the right hair and make up.

blog # 4 do's and don'ts of wearing holiday motif garments

The holidays are in and people like to get in the holiday spirit. But sometimes people get really into the holiday spirit and totally kill the whole outfit. Now that Christmas is in and everybody is wearing their holiday dresses, sweaters, jackets, and vest people want to stand out. Some start to wear every holiday clothing item they have in their closet and that is over kill. When going to a small party it would be nice to wear a simple little black dress with a cute red holiday Christmas sweater button down over it to keep you warm and to hide the wowness of the dress. When going to the mall or supermarket with the family it is nice to be in the spirit. But instead of wearing a dress wear jeans with a white turtle neck and a red christmas vest Attending a big industry party is no place for a red christmas vest or jeans. Instead just wear a simple neutral colored dress that you can accerssorize with colors like red or green. For example wearing just a simple dress in black or grey gives you the oppertunity to wear a necklace that is red or earings that are red you can even go bold and wear the color green instead if you are a person to wants to stand out in crowd. Christmas spirit is always nice to wear but when it gets to cold outside who is going to see the outfit under the big coat you have to wear. Instead of wearing a simple coat to keep you warm you can still stay in holiday spirit by wearing a pea coat that is either red or green. The coat that you wear doesnt nessecarly have to match the outfit you are wearing its just simply another layer that helps you stay warm. Also if you prefer to wear a black coat instead you have gloves or a scarf that has snowmen or santa clause, or you can just have the christmas colors. Sometimes we don't care to wear holiday motif's because its hard to stay in style. But now since knit wear is in, some stored have the knit coats that have snowflakes on them to stay in style but to help show your holiday spirit. http://www.abercrombie.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/category1_10051_10901_12226_-1_12202 Also having knit hat with holiday decoratives helps. Sometimes people can't afford all these winter accessories or holiday motif because Macy's or JC Penny's is to expensive but department stores also sell holiday motif's. Stores like Wal Mart and Kmart sell clothing for the holiday. They are affordable and instyle. Sometimes what celebrities over pay for can be found in those department stores for a lower price. Maybe not in the best quality but good enough for your life style. Keeping warm is a big part of the holidays. And even though people wear ugg boots almost any season ugg boots is a way of staying in style, warm, and keeping up with holiday spirit. But not any ordinary ugg boots, Now knit ugg boots are in style Buying them in colors like white and grey with a specific design make them look like they are in holiday motif.
